Collaborative Practice Training

New Dates Coming For 2027
Thursday 9 September 20269:30am to 4:30pm
There is another way to practise family law.
Not the immediate rush to positions. Not the default to “prepare for court.” Not the cycle that keeps families stuck in conflict, and lawyers stuck in patterns that feel all too familiar.
A strategic way. A structured way. A braver way.
Collaborative Practice isn’t about avoiding conflict. And it isn’t about pretending everything will be easy. It’s about approaching conflict differently, with preparation, clarity and leadership.
It asks you to slow the escalation. To hold the room steady. To guide your client with intention instead of reaction.
When it’s done well, it changes the tone of an entire matter for a family. Not because it removes complexity, but because it manages it intelligently.
If you’ve ever walked out of court thinking there must be a more thoughtful way to do this work, this is where that thought leads.
Join Clarissa Rayward in Brisbane for an immersive, in-person training designed for lawyers, mediators, accountants, financial planners, counsellors, psychologists and coaches ready to practise differently. Whether you’re stepping into Collaborative Practice for the first time or ready to refine what you already know.
This is practical training. Grounded training. Real-world training.
Introduction to Collaborative Practice Training
If you’re curious about Collaborative Practice, this is your starting point.
This program gives you a clear, practical understanding of how the model works, not just in theory, but in the reality of client work. We explore the foundations, but we also unpack what actually happens in the room. How you prepare your client. How you frame the process. What the participation agreement truly requires. How to balance empathy with strategy, because effective Collaborative Practice demands both.
Most importantly, we examine the mindset shift.
Collaborative Practice isn’t simply a different procedural pathway. It is a different way of showing up as a professional. It requires preparation, presence and the confidence to lead without defaulting to adversarial reflexes.
Throughout the day, you’ll engage in practical exercises and real scenarios that bring the model to life. You won’t just understand it intellectually, you’ll begin to feel what it requires.
By the end of the training, you’ll know how to begin. Clearly. Ethically. Confidently.
If you’re ready to expand your skillset and practise in a way that feels intelligent and aligned, this is where you start.

Advanced Collaborative Practice Training
If you’ve already completed introductory training, this is where we go deeper.
Because once you begin practising collaboratively, you realise quickly, the nuance is everything.
It’s one thing to understand the framework. It’s another to navigate high emotion, power imbalance, stalled negotiations or shifting professional dynamics.
This training focuses on those moments.
We explore complexity and build the skills required to manage it. You’ll refine your facilitation capability, strengthen negotiation strategy and develop the steadiness needed when tensions rise. There is space for honest discussion about ethical grey areas and the leadership required when matters feel uncertain.
This is not revision. It is elevation.
If you are serious about practising Collaborative at a high level, this room will stretch you, in the best way.

You’ll leave with more than information.
You’ll leave with capability.
Your Invitation
Collaborative Practice asks more of you. More preparation. More awareness. More leadership.
But it gives more back, stronger client relationships, more considered outcomes and a way of practising family law that feels aligned rather than reactive.
If this resonates, don’t park it for “later.”
The lawyers who build strong Collaborative practices don’t wait until it’s convenient.
They decide. They step in. They build capability deliberately.
This training is designed to be small. Not because we couldn’t fill a bigger room, but because the depth of discussion and practical work matters. That means places are limited, and once they are filled, registrations will close.
If you’ve been thinking about Collaborative Practice for a while, this is your moment to act.
Ready to Secure Your Place?
If you are new to Collaborative Practice, register for the Introductory Training and build your foundation properly.

Do not wait until the week before.

If you’re going to step into this work, step in fully.
